Yeti production month

Featured Replies

How do I know the production month of my Yeti from the data on the car like VIN or something else?

One guy from SKODA forum in India says it is 6th one of those characters in VIN that shows the month. Is that true? How do I decode mine? Mine is TMBLB4...

As per a thread here and a VIN decoder that 4 it seems to indicate the number of airbags if I am not mistaken.

That works fine for my Yeti. :)

You could try entering in the VIN here.

That works fine for my Yeti. :)

Thanks for the link. This reconfirms my earlier find through another link in Briskoda (to another site) that month of production is not part of VIN!!

But this is the other link that said 6th character is month of production. Does VIN change with country of sale?

I tried this guys characters with my last digits in the octinifo website and it returned E to be production month May as written in team-bhp website.

Look at the front wings on the inside where they connect to the main shell you should find a date stamp of manufacture; such as 39/09; week 39 of 2009 for example. these parts are usually made within a month at most of the cars actual full construction.

There should be other dates to be found under the bonnet such as on the engines build bar code sticker, which will also tell you the exact time the engine was signed off as complete. Again as an example our engine was signed off on the 4th April 2011 at 16:08 and 4 seconds, which is less than a week before the car was built.

Vin decoder for Skoda:

There is a site where the VIN can be input and it give a lot more details including the actual day of build, I tried it on mine and it worked well but can not find it at the moment.
I was pretty sure it was on this site somewhere!

Or you could have been lucky enough to have visited the dealer when it still had all the labels attached.

Your dealer will be able to tell you everything about your car, including time of build and all the build codes by putting the VIN into the Skoda internal web system. Mine was bale to tell me that my previous car was signed off on 27th October 2008.
