6 speed gearbox oil?

Featured Replies

Is it 75w/90 synthetic like with the PD100 gearbox?

IIRC theres two grades that can be used.. not sure what they are tho.

Oh, aye? Think I might just get 5 litres of 75w/90 - I can't see any reason that the pd130 box would use different oil than the pd100

I'm also somewhat confused about what different grades of oil will do to the performance of the box.

Same oil for the PD100 as the PD130 gearboxes.

Thinner oil will circulate better in the syncromeshes and make gear change smoother but may not give the same lubrication properties.

Yep, you need a good 75w-90 for best results.

The other grade you may see is the 80w-90 but this is generally because they are mineral based as oposed to synthetic so they will not be as fluid at cold temps as the 75w-90.

Cheers

Guy.
