My neighbour drove straight into my Superb on Saturday, wrecking the drivers side door, wing and splashguard.

 

Just wanted to know where the best place to buy body panels from or if the dealers is the only option. I have been searching Google furiously for hours with little joy. I don't really want to buy a used one as my bodywork was nearly perfect before the incident. I'm not sure if the dents could be pulled out, filled, polished and sprayed as it looks pretty bad. I would post pics but I am still a little bit emotional.

www.skoda-dily.cz is a czech e-shop which ships to, quoting: "other countries" via DPD, so they should ship to Britain all right. The wing is GBP 100, front door GBP 400 and splashguard GBP 11, all original parts. The e-shop is Czech only, but I could help you with ordering (or you can use Google Translate).

Not sure if the ebay link is legit. All original doors with that part no. (that I checked) are in the GBP 400-500 ballpark. I can't imagine how anybody got a tenth of that price without something sinister going on.

Why do you need to buy parts?

Just claim on your neighbours insurance and let them sort it.

The seller has good feedback (nothing to do with me by the way) so I figure a fairly safe punt if you need a door.  Anyway they're happy for you to collect from them so you can always check it out, probably worth a trip for that price difference.

 

There was another seller a while ago with a whole rear quarter panel for Superb (again brand new) which went for peanuts.  I think these parts have probably been stuck in a dealer warehouse for whatever reason (cancelled job etc) and so just get cleared out in the end.  But of course, buyer beware! :)

You could just be my lifesaver :) I will feel bad taking it from you and really appreciate your help.

 

Is the Passat B5 door definitely the same as the Superb door. I probably will go and collect it just so I can check the condition etc but, I don't want to pay to have it all sprayed and then find it doesn't fit.

Thank you for your help and advice. I will check out the link and will contact you if I need help translating as my non English language abilities are very poor.

I can't be sure, you should try and work out if it is right yourself (perhaps vagcat can help you, they have an online part catalog, or another forum member).  Note you will have to move everything between the doors (hinges, locks, glass, seals, etc).

    Spoke to highly recommended body shop in my area.

     

    They have sourced a door in the right colour, will need a bit of re spray and repair but a lot better and cheaper option than to repair my current door. 

     

    They are going to spray and fit the new door and wing (including a slight repair to the bumper as well) blend it all in from front wing to back door for £500 approx

     

    I was expecting a cost of between 1500 and 2000 so today has been a good day. I would like to thank everyone for their support and guidance (apart from Phil who I think is a psychopath. LOL :))

     

    I will try and post pics of before and after

    Sad for your neighbour but if he is a decent person then he will not mind doing the decent thing , will he.

    First of all I am being refunded by neighbours family for damage -

     

    Garage phoned up said they couldn't get a cheaper version wing, side repeater and outer door sills so price has gone up now £700, I went down to see him and somehow ended up agreeing additional work done to the N/S rear arch with rear spray from rear N/S arch to front N/S door and stone chip repairs to the bonnet.  now at £950. I wonder how much it will be tomorrow.

     

    Also how do I upload pictures.
