Ordered 2.0tdi elegance combi on the 6th April just been told build date week 36 !!!!!! That's 10 week s later than first told !!!!

What can be done ?

I guess you have four options 1) see if any other dealer can get you a car quicker - if they can get in writing and throw that at your dealer 2) live with it 3) see if there are any alternative cars "in the system" 4) cancel and buy something else

This is probably due to higher than expected demand, if it is - good for residuals!

Reading elsewhere on this site, I think it has more to do with some kind of production problem that is only affecting Combis. Chrome trim and seat problems apparently.

Build dates change its just part of ordering a car to your spec. I dont know why dealers bother telling a build week they should wait until its confirmed by the factory and from memory build weeks are confirmed on the thursday or friday before the build is due to start. But until its confirmed it can change a few times. Most likely down to production issues or part shortages

Option 5 - cry!

Option 6 - get rat arsed!

Option 7 - buy a showroom demo. There is a nice race blue Elegance Combi with Golus at Bickerton's in Sheff, noticed it when took SWMBOs car for service last week!

Either that or get the value guarenteed until the car turns up (something I always get done now from a bad previous experience)

Part exchange value should be until the replacement car arrives.

If it's late it's their problem.

If they want your car they should provide something for you to drive around in, even if it's a bit basic.

Somebody, somewhere is laughing, probably other manufacturers.

Wasnt there long delivery issues about 2 years ago?  And many people who were waiting long times were getting vouchers, extra discounts etc?  You would of thought Skoda would of learnt by now!

 

Also, when I swapped mine 12 months ago, with the delays on mine etc I ended up with a run around Pope Mobile for a few weeks until mine was ready, just meant a month with no car finance :-) 

I have asked the manager to see if there is a car for us to run arround in ! 10 weeks at least without two cars is going to drive us insane lol

I had a similar problem with mine, but only a three week delay. The dealer lent me the salesman's 'own' company OctyII estate, which wasn't a bad place to be for three weeks.

Have you been informed that it's next year? I understand how you feel, and I have been wait 5 weeks less. But what alternative car would you go for or just delay.

There's actually nothing wrong with long delivery times... other than dealers are ****ty at align expectations

I m lucky to have new cars ,I have had new bmw ,2 audi,landrover evoque,abarth 500,porsche no problems with any certainly didn't have to wait from April to September best scenario for any of above

What exactly have you ordered? Are there some extra specs involved? They might cause some delays.

I was getting the father in laws 10 plate Leon Fr, which he was letting me buy for the same PX price he had been offered, until he had his third postponement of his brand new Leon FR with a panoramic roof. This was ordered back in April and had deliver end june,then mid/late July then sometime September but still not confirmed, not sure if the panoramic roofs are the issue?

I could not wait any longer with just the wife's car and ended up buying my ex demonstrator Skoda Octavia to go with the wife's Citigo

So it is not only Skoda having issues or delays. I would get them to guarantee the part ex price or insist on a run around from them and get it in writing!

My father in law has had his PX ex price fixed no matter what apparently and he keeps it until his new one turns up.
