OBD port info - always powered?

Featured Replies

Hope this is the correct place to post this question.

I have bought a bluetooth OBD II connector which I am planning on using with my tablet and the Torque app. Just wondering does the OBD port on car always give power or will the connector turn off after a while?

If it is always powered, how much does it generally draw? Can't see it being much, but just don't want a flat battery at some point :)

Thank you!

I leave mine in a lot of the time only had a flat at an airport car park but that may have been due to the car standing for a fortnight.

Might be worth just trying it then. I also have two cameras running with a power management thing which turns the cameras off when the battery gets down to 11.8v.
