Does disconnecting your battery do anything to your brakes? Had to get to my starter motor the other day because a wire had come off, so had to remove the battery. Since doin the job my brakes feel so much better? Why is this?

I can't see any connection unless you were suffering from premature ABS actuation, and have reset the ABS computer with the battery disconnect.

I've always thought the battery just powers all your electrical stuff, lights, stereo etc and your alternator recharges it.

shouldn't do. Just out of interest which wire came loose on the starter motor.

It just wouldn't start the other day, just nothing when I turned the key. Because there was no turning of the engine at all I gathered it was electrical so after closer inspection found a little red wire had snapped from the starter motor. It came out of the starter and joined a thick wire loom half way down the length of wires., once I had reconnected this everything was fine again!
