Euro/Dub style Fabias. Wide Wheels and low ride height advice.

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

I don't know if this is the right forums to get advice for this sort of thing but I'm looking to take my fab down the euro route. I'm looking at wheels that are 16x8J ET25 but I wanted to hear opinons from people who have gone down a similar route, as to how wide/low I can get without causing clearance issues etc.

It'd also be nice to see some examples of dubbed Fabs and if there is a forums anyone can recommend for that particular scene I'd appreciate it.

Thanks, Ben.

This is (in general) not a good forum for that "scene"..

...but..

There are a few on here (me included) who have gone down that route.

With 16x8 et25 as long as you get 195/45 tyres they will fit no probs..

Speak to joe he put standard vrs tyres on his 16x8 steels + they caught the arches a fair bit.. hes now got 195/45s (iirc)

If u want any more wheel fitment info check this link

Also www.edition38.com/forums is a good forum for more open minded euro or "scene" (hate that word :D) people

Thanks for the reply mate and yeah i was looking at those tires sizes as well. I was just a bit worried because at the moment I have 17s with 40 profile tires with my V-Maxx coilovers all the way down and they catch on everything lol. Little bumps and they rub on the arch, turning the wheel full lock etc.

I'll be sure to check out edition38 too. Any pics of your car I can see?

Here my build thread and a couple of pics.. check out the "recent pics of your car for no reason" thread + u will see some other nice "euro inspired" fabias ;)

I have 205/45/16 on 8.5j rears and are about et16 and they catch abit but alot when someone is in the rear and im not all that low. You are right matt i do have 195s on 8s but up front and they clear very well and they are et23. 195 will be going on the rear soon though and let me go lower ;)

Mines running17" 7.5j et25 up front with 185/35/17 tires(mainly for clearence on the arch and the strut bag on the inside)

And

8.5j et15 on back with 195/40/17 tires

Thank for the replies, your cars look awesome! That estate on bags is epic haha. 185/35 must be such a harsh ride though mate

the estate is running same wheel/tire sizes as mine ;-) its a stiff ride yeah, but it is anyway on air,if ya gonna run low its gonna be stiff/"harsh" anyway XD

My cars slammed on coilover, still need to go lower, what coilovers does everyone use for lows?

Static lows jom is the best i think. Im on ap's and maxed out on the rear really and have about 10 threads left on the front. Need air really.

I'm on V-Maxx so it's not very stiff but the ride comfort is pretty good for coils.

have you took the rear threaded adjuster bit out joe? . . That gets you a bit more lows, then if you want even more just take the whole cup out and let the spring sit in the cars original cup bit . . But then the springs are that short when you jack it up theyll just fall out haha..

air is the answer, but thats not just as simple as bolting bags in either, fabrication and alot of p***ing about is needed. Stupid fabias ;-) lol

Yer the adjuster is out I did take the black rubber top out aswell but rubbed to much its only about 10mm worth but was to bad. Need some 195s.
