pd170 VRS M14 12 point spline bolts HELP !

Featured Replies

I wonder if anyone can help me, after starting my rear brakes at the weekend two of the spline bolts holding the caliper frame/carrrier to the rear hub have rounded nightmare!!!

My question is are the M14 spline bolts available to buy individually anywhere? VW and Skoda have not been that helpful.

Does anyone have an idea on how to get them out now thay are rounded I have a few ideas but am wondering if anyone has had the same problem.

Thanks

Craig.

I changed my rear discs and pads a few months ago, the stretch bolts must be renewed. I got mine from TPS.

Thanks just need to find a way of getting the old rounded ones off now.

You might be able to smack an Allen key on there to undo them - use an old one that doesn't matter if it get Mullered.

Hammering in an old Torx bit often works well for getting damaged allen/spline bolts out.

Good luck getting the carrier bolts out, they are really tight. I would take it to a garage and get them to try an impact gun on them.

I had to lay under the car kicking a long breaker bar to remove them!!
