internal rear view mirror set too low?

Featured Replies

In some cars the internal rear view mirror is set too low and abscures vision. Especially for tall drivers.

Looking on Octavia's brochures seems the position of mirror depends of rain/humidity/traffic sensors. The lowest position comes with the traffic camera for front assist.

Have anyone checked that?

Would be great to have measurement by each options.

I have 3 mirrors and all are set by myself. What is the mirror in question?

Yeah I noticed that the cars that have the lane assist option have quite a big contraption around the mount of the internal rear view mirror. I did feel that it obscured my vision. Cars that have headlight assist option but not lane assist have a smaller camera unit mounted near the internal rear view mirror. However the area on the windscreen which is used for mounting the lane assist camera is still covered by some kind of dotted pattern.

I Am 1.80m tall and I do not have issues at all with any of the mirrors.

I am 6' 2" and have no idea what my height is in cm - mirrors are fine though

It seems 180cm should be around 5'9". So you are taller and a better refference

I'm 6,1 and having massive problems with the internal mirror, as it blocking my sight.

Or, said in a other way - it should be possible to level the seats closer to the floor..

This is the one thing I don't like about my Elegance Estate. Have adjusted seat to lowest position, but still have problems....

There are three different mirrors in O3.

Basic and the simple camera (light assistants, front assist, adaptive cruise control) are on then same high.

If the car is equipped with bigger camera (Lane assist ) the mirror is mounted 1cm lower with big plastic housing for the camera.

Have measured all types personally.

The VRS has lower front seat and so more headroom - I hope!
