Mot today and only 1 advisory the anti roll bar has a bit of lateral movement. Can anyone advise wether this is down to bushes or something else if it is bushes are there uprated ones to replace the standard ones. Cheers

on the older vrs's ( maybe other fabias too) the roll bar had plastic stops to stop lateral movement... over time the metal rusts and expands cracking and breaking off the plastic stops .... newer ones have steel stops which are welded on .

 

You can buy whiteline stops that bolt around the roll bar .

you could weld 2 washers / stops on to the roll bar .

or

you can buy a newer updated roll bar 

Hi, ours is an 02 plate 1.4mpi & recently needed the bushes replaced along with the ARB itself to ease through the MOT. This was linked to lateral play & that bloody annoying noise like old bed springs every time a speed bump or other was negotiated! Common problem on the earlier Fabs. You can get uprated options but I'll leave others more knowledgeable to advise that.

What age is the car first, lateral movement does sound very much like a knackered early type (with plastic end stops) ARB.

Sorry Its an 04 fabia vrs, i was quite surprised as ive noticed no squeeking or noises whatsoever.

Just googled the whiteline sway bar locks, that may be the way to go i think if the plastic stops have deteriorated.

try a site sponsor such as awesome gti they may be able to do you a good deal on a set and some new bushes if you decide thats what you want 

Cheers holmsie you goin down the same route with yours? The whiteline ones are £22 which isnt expensive cpmpared to a new farb

i will be doing put some powerflex roll bar bushes on then a set of the whiteline stops .... then when / if the dmf dies and the gearbox is off the car ... ill try change the farb without removing the sub frame 

Is the farb 19mm on the fab vrs. Cheers
