Which OEM tyres? SE & Elegance

Featured Replies

Hi, a simple one, which tyres does the SE come fitted with as standard, assuming standard 'Lilas' - 205/55 R16 91V wheels fitted?

Also, what about the Elegance? 'Teron' - 225/45 R17 91W

Just trying to get the best handle on potential running costs that I can.

Thanks

Tom

Mine appear to be "Dunlop Sport Maxx RT"

Whatever they have a big pile of in the factory when your car comes down the production line.

My Elegance on standard 17" wheels has Dunlop Sport Maxx RT

Cheers Guys

Supposed to be good tyres the Dunlop Sport Maxx RT. Good in wet and also quiet. Please feel free to share your experience of them with everyone!

In the 4 days that I have had the car we have had glorious sunshine and my climate control is knackered, so I can't comment on wet grip, and they may be quiet but I have been driving round with the windows open, drowning out any tyre noise  :giggle:

Fair comment Juniperz!

My Elegance 2.0Tdi has Michelin Primacy HP

.

If I had a choice I'd always go for Michelin

Mine have Michelin.

Not sure if the problem is sorted, but on my OctyII the Dunlops they had put on Sawtoothed. Huge problem on that car.

Elegance on 16 inch are Continental premium Contact 5

Mine has the Dunlop 18" Sport Maxx black ones! When they need changing, it will probably be for Continental 18" black ones as the ones fitted to my Superb were brilliant, managed to get 32k from a set on the front and 60k from the rears! They were Sport Contact 2s which were replaced with Conti SC5s that were even quieter. Will be interesting to see how the Dunlops compare on mileage but a mate at work says they are the devil's tyre, especially on rear drive BMWs, not enough wet grip!

On my SE (1.4 TSI 16") it was delivered with Dunlop SP Sport Fastresponse tyres (which was the same as I had on my previous octy 2) - decent tyres in my experience if not the out and out best.

Continentals and Bridgestone will last longer the trade off being, particularly with Bridgestones, a slightly firmer ride. Michelins give the best ride and arguably marginally the best fuel consumption.
