MK2 L&K Modified

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I have been on here a little while now and have owned my Octavia MK2 for approximately a month and a half now. Its a great car and I really love it - but I am a avid modifier so hope I don't upset the OEM guys too much! I like to keep the look clean and tidy so hopefully you will all love it! :)

Week one of Ownership:

It needed a new EGR after picking her up - warranty covered so it was fitted almost immediately. Please ignore my Bentley in the background  After the new EGR - returning a happy 65MPG - I was over the moon. Its my first ever diesel so getting used to it was weird - the noisier engine at least.

Week Two - Down to basics:

Booked her in for rear tints. These are Suntek Carbon film - I am a tinter myself in my spare time, though I always let someone else loose on my own cars as I dislike the stress of it. I am a pretty bad customer for tints - fussy as can be!

The SunTek film is great - its not as dark as the pictures show - but still provides a fairly dark tint. The difference in quality is noticed from the inside of cabin - where the windows are only marginally darker than the fronts from the drivers view (helpful with the poor vision on the Octavia rear)

I added some stickers to the rear window - I know its not everyones taste but I wanted to break the blackness of the rear up a little.

With this - I also got some BRISKODA stickers from the shop. These sit perfect in the rear quarters

Week Three is all about the LOWS:

Thanks to a member on here (for the coilovers) and a few good mates - and 6 hours of late night fitting - we spent last Thursday lowering the car and finished successfully at 3AM in the morning. I was adamant it would be low before my new wheels which I had now agreed to purchase and pickup Saturday just gone.

We lowered it fully with adjusters still inplace on rear and only half way down on the front. This was to allow me to get to Devon okay. The car is due to be dropped further soon!

With thanks to Projex for the tyre change and new bolts. Please welcome along my Mercedes 5x112 wheels - fresh and refurbed. Being ET40 they fit much closer to the arch. The fronts still need approximately 5mm spacers and the rears another 15mm - these are ordered and will be fitted asap.

The car has still not been dropped fully to allow the suspension to settle properly. As you can see - it still needs more on the rear and the front still has a good 15mm more to drop before causing any droplink, shaft or frame problems. All will be resolved once the spacers are fitted and arches are rolled !!

Week Four - TLC:

Once all my majors are out the way - I thought it was time for some TLC. The car received a full wax, and a good service including

Oil Change (Easy Peasy on this car), Fuel Filter Change (Easy Peasy on this car), Air Filter (Woo Easy), Aircon Refil (Thanks to a mate)

MY NEXT PLANS:

Ready:
VRS REAR BUMPER (READY FOR FITTING ALREADY)

15MM REAR SPACER (ORDERED)

5MM FRONT SPACER (ORDERED)

ARCHES ROLLED (BOOKED IN)

MILOTEK GRILL (READY FOR FITTING)

WIND DEFLECTORS (READY FOR FITTING)
REMOVAL OF MUDFLAPS (WILL BE DONE FITTING NEW BUMPERS)

Almost:

PAINT INTERNAL OF FRONT LIGHTS BLACK

FIT NEW SPORTY BACKBOX

REMAP FROM 105 to 130BHP

VRS FRONT BUMPER - SO RARE :(

What else should I do? Suggestions? :)

Looks good what you've done so far. Future plans sound great too

Looks really smart mate! will your flaps not fit on the new bumper?
