Different oil if car is tuned?

Featured Replies

I have a 1.9 TDI PD100 but been tuned to 170bhp

pd150 injectors and hybrid turbo and remap.

What oil do I put in the car? Still the standard oil or does it need to be something else?

:)

Quantum platinum (standard pd oil)

Or quantum longlife 3 (better oil)

Either will do and available from skoda

I wouldn't bother you want a compromise of performance and longevity, thinner oil possibly slightly better performance at the expense of wear just go for above 5w40.

Thanks chaps. I'm not looking for performance, just the best care for the engine :)

The quantum longlife 3 is 5w30 that ok?

Going to get this and new oil filter.

probably find it's cheaper from TPS though.

Does TPS stand for Trade Parts Specialists?

Thank you. Can the oil be removed/changed without an extractor (pump)?

Wouldn't use an extractor

Old way is the best, via the sump drain plug!

Renew plug every oil change ( also available from skoda)

Excellent, means i dont have to spend more money on a poxy tool!

Thank you for sharing your wisdom  :hi:

I've done mine with an oil removal pump, never had any issues but I'd still say from the sump plug is best.

You never get all the oil using the oil suckers from the dip stick.
