No Interior Lighting (checked fuses/changed bulbs)

Featured Replies

Hey guys, I'm new here!

Brought a 2002 Skoda Fabia 1.4 Recently, loving it. But few issues. One of which is interior lighting (in car and boot) not working. Dash lights all work fine though. I changed fuses and bulbs already. Any ideas?

Thanks.

No one have any idea? Could really do with some help!

Have you checked all the fuses? there is more than one fuse for the interior lighting.

Hi

Apart from fuse no 4 which  is the next one, pls?

I have the same problem on my 05 Fabia.

Does your boot open by pressing the switch or you need to pull the lever?

Are the door courtesy lights, rear interior lights and glovebox lights also not working? They should all go through fuse 4. That one is the fourth one down on the right hand column of fuses (the fourth of the five small ones at the top), and it should be 10A (assuming your car is standard RHD, if not it'll be in the left column).

Me again. Having peeked at the diagram, went on a bit more of a trawl through the old topics. Wino posted a good set of possibilities in this thread: http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/351492-interior-light-dead-please-help/

The obvious failure points (assuming glove box etc are off too) are fuse 4 or the comfort module (the relay in it). Bit of a tricky job, even if you decide to just replace the whole module

The 12V supply comes from a relay inside the onboard supply control unit, via connector XP2, a 6-way connector also known as T6j (red-ringed below).

A bad connection where the loom plugs into this point is a possibility; just unplugging and re-connecting this 6-way connector might resolve it.  Access to the connector is the only hassle.

This unit sits above the pedals, with all the connectors facing vertically downwards; don't think you can see much on the Fabia without removing lower dash trim. This is described in various how-to threads, like the one for evaporator temp sensor in the 'Technical Guides' section.
