Air con blowing fuses

Featured Replies

OK, so there are a few topics on here about air-con at the moment, but none seem to be apropriate to my problem.

Anyway, the fuse for my air con keeps blowing, it blows as soon as i put a new one in the socket, it even blows when the keys are not in the ignition.

Any one know anything at all or had a similiar problem?

Thanks?

Sounds like it has a dead short somewhere, take a look at the compressor itself and see if any of the wires are touching an earth.

Ok, looked at the compressor, it has 2 wires coming of it, which are the immediatly clamped down to the housing, it then goes into a terminal block (?) and 2 more wires then look to make there way to the battery. From what i could see and feel, these wires seemed fine (in my not very professional opinion anyway).

I could not get the terminal block thing away to have a through look at it though.

Any other ideas?

which fuse is blowing? the one on top of the battery?

No, that 1 is still intact. Its in the fuse box, its F16 and its a 10A fuse.
