Rear window dropped :-( URGENT !

Featured Replies

Golf door is different mate, there are repair clips if you search ebay you'll find them but people have mixed views.

I'd replace the whole regulator. Just so happens I have one complete with motor on eBay right now.

That was fitted too :P

Very, very common on all Mk4 Golf platform cars, very cheap to fix :)

Ah that makes more sense!

I think the rear regulators do break more often than the front ones.I replaced both rears on my octy, first failed 5 years ago, second last month.

I think he mentioned due to lack of use they seize.

I have been quoted 100 quid for a fns regulator fitted, can you tell me where you got it done for 67 quid thanks(maybe fronts are dearer)don't want to be ripped off

Sometimes cheaper is not always better, there is a well known phrase - You get what you pay for, & I'm sure a lot of people have experienced this ;)

Hello,

I have a friend who works at a garage in Maghull, Liverpool, so get decent labour rates.

£100 isnt too bad as pretty sure the full part is a good forty quid or so.

The bigger problem is the plastic clips in the slider become brittle and snap easily. Even with a good knock on the inside of the door card they can go. They're cheap plastic (as stock) and not very substantial either.

That too & the cables on mine had completely mashed the gears, so no option really.
