Rear Sun Blinds

Featured Replies

Morning all,

I was wondering if anyone has any experience of fitting the boot rear blind to the citigo from the Mii accessories? I've been lead to believe that it is the exact same part for all 3 cars (Mii, Up! and Citigo). Yet Seat are selling it for about £36 where as VW and Skoda are selling it for, wait for it............about £140!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Obviously this is completely ridiculous so if the Mii one fits perfectly and is the same then who wouldn't buy it?

All comments most welcome and thank you in advance

Yep, I have them fitted (rear window and rear side windows (5 door model).

The blinds are great and dead easy to fit - took me less than 5 minutes.

If you have the darkened rear window option, in combination with the blinds it's virtually impossible to see into the back of the car from the outside - like having drug-dealer style blacked-out windows (or "UKWs" as I like to call them*).

Go for the Seat ones as the VW/Skoda ones are a rip-off.

Pics would be nice yeah Prof. Correct me if I'm wrong though, Seat do not sell the rear side ones? Only the boot one. Did you source the two rear side window ones from Skoda or VW?

I phoned Seat today and they said they don't do the side blinds. I'm never quite sure with Listers though, they don't always seem to know what they are talking about.

I got a Mii rear window blind off eBay. It claimed to be a genuine Seat one but I don't know how to tell. It came with stick on clips and seems to fit quite well.

I'd like the side window blinds too but I guess I'll have to get them from Skoda?

Hi,

Yeah - I've called 3 Seat dealers and looked through their on-line Accessors brochure. Only the rear one is for sale. I'll be ordering mine then from Seat since you've confirmed that it fits well.

I posted some pics a while back and they're on my gallery too.

Sourced from Underwoods - I paid the price, but have had these blinds before on my Superb and didn't mind paying £140 odd.  Of course now that Seat are doing the rear one for so little, I'm sure Underwoods would offer a discount, they did knock something off for me as I recall.

Thanks prof. So does ur citigo have sunset windows too?

Yep. The combination of that and the sun-blinds means that even when you cup your hands to the rear windows, it's almost impossible to see into the rear of the car. For a day or so, when you're looking behind or out of the windows with the blinds in place, you 'see' the blind rather than what's out the window, but very quickly you get used to them and can see past them fine.  It's a bit like when I had the heated windscreen on my Superb - for a couple of days my eyes focused on the wire elements in the glass, but then my brain (god bless, it's little but tries hard) just ignored them and focused through the glass...

I've decided to just get professional window tinting done instead. Quoted £90 for all back windows. I'll be going with factory tint levels, 20%

That's a good price.  I was quoted over £120 for same windows on a Fiat Panda a while back...

Seat part number for rear sun blind is 1SL064365A if anyone is interested. I just bought one. Fixing points are meant to be attached by double side tape, and it's too cold here to do so at the moment.

I'm a bit worried if this sun blind scrubs rear window heater element. If that's a risk then I don't use this sun blind. But we'll see when weather gets warm.

There you go

Simple, and clever.

There is no contact between sun blind and rear window heater element, if you install it as it should be installed. You can also reshape sun blind a bit to fit it even more correctly.
