ok, cheers. steve

Cheers people! Yeah, I love my Kenwood. Had it for a long while now, might change it soon. Absolutly brilliant head unit, got all the features you would expect, DVD/VCD/MP3 playback, and you can also purchase the Nav add-on. I've also got a 10 Disc MP3 changer to go with it. So all in all, its a very nice package.

As mentioned previously, the only downside to it is the lack of security. However, its not very hard at all to make a simple mask for it, which will easily hide it. I just haven't had the time recently to make one!

As for the quality of the screen, its amazing. Very clear and crisp. When I bought the headunit, it cost

Very nice!

I think I'll be changing over to a nice Alpine unit one day... its just finding one with illumination that matches that of the dash.

All the HU colours change to whatever colour you want you can chosse beteen 512 colours.

It went in yesterday, it sounds great and boy oh boy is it fun.

The 'boot' screen:

In the car, it looks like this:

I have the tuner module as well just in case I can't decide between the 32GB of MP3s:

As well as the great scrolling version of Pacman, there is sideways-Tetris, and Breakout too. Kept my little sister amused with the remote when I was driving :)

But still pictures simply don't do it justice - check out the AVI video clip here. There are loads of visualisations like that.

Best headunit evar

As Alex said you can change the colours on all Alpine's, mine is pretty much exact with the other green lights

Sounds cool. So show us a bloody pic dammit!!! :P

I jiggled about with mine a bit and I've set the cage right back now so the head unit looks more "nestled" in the dash - much better. But still prefer the look of the Alpine really. :o

Here is my sony cdx-m1000tf. Really happy with it and its clean look.

Its a shame the dash is curved leaving the top of the cubby hole showing. Anyone have any genius ideas how to get round this?

Exactly the same problem here. I've learned to live with it, but it would be nice to not have the gap there, would finish it off really. In the meantime I've pulled the cage of my unit out a little bit so it is not set so far back which has made it a bit better.

Or you can fit the flatter twin cup holder I think from VW.
