Orange engine warning light

Featured Replies

Hi folks yet another gremlin on my mk 1. My orange engine warning light keeps coming on. Fault 17455 I think. it says lean on bank 2. Anybody got any ideas? have heard it could be my cat breaking down or lambda sensors. No got a clue, hope you can help

Get it decatted and remapped with the rear oxy sensor mapped out? I imagine the rear oxy sensor would be cheapest to try first. Best off getting some one with good experience using a vag-com I think it's called to check how the oxy sensor is behaving when driving.

Could it just be the heat  affecting the orange engine warning light sensor , as in the case of our Mk 1 Octavia during  a heatwave  ?? This actually resolved by itself , emissions etc checked by a dealer and all was well . .

It could be literally anything, you need to scan it again get the exact code and then start from there, it sounds like you're running lean, which could be O2 sensor, MAF, Vac leak, Coolant sensor, manifold temp sensor or something else !!!

Just had vac pipes checked with smoke and yep got a few cracked. Even found one myself. Need the 2under the plenum chamber and one that comes round by air filter . Do they come in a set kit or can I buy them separately?
