1.8 TSI essentials to carry around

Featured Replies

Hi,

hopefully picking up my new (to me) Superb 1.8 TSI on friday and was wondering what essentials I should be carrying around with me in the car?

I am used to TDIs and haven't had a petrol in years!

Do I need to carry around a spare coil pack? What else?

Thanks

Spare wheel, jack, wheel brace, spare bulbs and warning triangle. I also keep an ample supply or Werther's Originals.

Comes with the spare wheel and will need to get a spare bulb pack. All my spare bulbs are suitable for the Furby / Octy and so will need new other bits.

I always like to carry spare oil as well. Do the 1.8 TSI suffer from coil pack failures like the older engines.

Just make sure you carry some oil as they do use a bit.

I did 98k in mine with no problems at all.

Yeah but what does she know? (I'll get my coat)

Spare litre of screen wash always handy. I have a tow rope, jump leads, oil, warning triangle, pump, pressure gauge, screen wash and the spare wheel with jack etc. Maybe I am a bit OTT !!

I carry spare fuses, first aid kit, triangle, dr. leather wipes, rain-x screen spray, micro fibre cloth, vag screen wash (diluted), 1L oil, mini compressor, slime sealant, space saver tyre & jack kit, bottle of millers ecomax, and some roof straps.

I generally carry everything peanut18 anyway bar the jump leads. I've only needed a set once and was at home where a neighbour helped. I also carry 2l of water for filling the washer when out and about or emergency water top up.
