Grille Fitment

Featured Replies

Has anyone taken the front grille of a citigo yet?
I keep thinking of buying a spare grille to chop up and make a custom inner piece where the fins are but want to know how easy it is to remove it first???

BossFox has...

So long since I looked though, I can't remember. :(

I looked at this and it's looks like you are correct, bumper off from what I can see.

Does this give me an excuse to see what other mods can be done to the lower bumper grille as thats another bit I dont like....

I've had a look at the grille this morning. Undid the screws at the top and pulled it forward slightly. If you look down there is a series of clips that protrude from the rear of the bumper and go through holes in the grille. It may be possible to press the clips upward and release the grille, though I think long, thin, strong fingers may be needed. If anyone has the bumper off it would be interesting to see a picture of that area.

Can anyone who has the grille with the chrome trim confirm that the chrome trim is a separate part as the diagram above indicates?

4 is called cover trim and comes in two different versions - chrome being one of them.

I'm not going to try to take off my chrome trim for you :)

The part number is 1ST853767 (1ST8537672ZZ for chrome).

Thank you for that. My next question is whether the trim is fixable to the standard S grille or whether the grille to which the trim is attached is recessed so the level is the same. I can't tell from the diagram or the database whether there is a different part number.

There are two different part numbers for the grilles (number 3) - both are satin black. I have no idea why.

1ST853653A (PR-2JU) and 1ST853653B (PR-2JG)

I'd suspect the easiest for the factory would be to only have one grille and two (or more) grille trims.

A mystery...

and each of the two grilles seem to have two parts: 1ST853653B9B9 and 1ST853653A9B9

I think I need to have a good look at a grille with the trim on it and compare it with mine before I part with any cash.

Thanks for the diagram pixel , over the next week or so I intend to wrap the chrome in black .

I wonder what a carbon wrap would look like on this trim.

I've just bought some 3M vynil wrap off eBay. It's Satin Black. I'm going to tackle this soon as I don't want the chrome grille surround. Trying to keep it in Black and Red theme :)

I've a red Sport coming in a few weeks, been gazing at pictures online (as you do  )

The one thing i've kept thinking is I wish the grill didn't have the chrome trim! Having looked at it a bit more it would seem the S model has a plain black trim. Easy swap maybe? I look forward to seeing the wrapping idea, quite like the thought of a mesh type grill as well

Well hopefully I will try to get the grille off tommorow and see how the chrome trim comes off.

A mesh grille would look great on the Sport I think ( waiting for Milotec to make one) :)

I removed the grille then the Chrome trim and have wrapped it Satin Black.

Not a job for the faint hearted. It's very tricky. I'll put up a thread about it later.

It's not actually a bumper off job. You can do it in place but it's very fiddly.Theres plastic clips at the bottom of the grille that need to be pushed down for the bottom of the grille to release.

Pics?

Going to do a thread later with piccies :)

Nice one mate

Might be worth putting it in the technical guides section

My wrapping thread is now in the Citigo Technical guides section :)
