Torque Settings - Oil Filter & Sump Plug?

Featured Replies

Does anyone know the torque settings for the oil filter & sump plug for a MK1 Fabia VRS?

timing..im doing this at the weekend. Anyone know the size of the nut on the oil filter cap?

either 32 or 36mm. Seems to depend on the year of the car.

Cheers, heavily doubt there's either of those in my tool box though...

Oil filter on my BLT was 32mm one luckily I asked to borrow one from my mums fella and he said I could keep it :)

My sump plug must have been done up with a pole, **** me it was tight. I had to lever off the spanner with another monster spanner!

Mine was the same! ^

The first time I went to change it I bottled it, I was convinced the threads would be stripped when I finally managed to undo it.

Yeah definitely going to sort mine out this weekend. Any of you guys changed the fuel filter before?

Yep, I changed mine a few days ago and do loads at work.

It has like a spring clip holding a plastic t piece into the filter, it has two o'rings on it which make them difficult to remove, I've seen a few snap before but mostly because people are heavy handed.

The other two are held on by clips so easy enough to change.

Make sure you fill the filter up before fitting as if you do it empty it will be a nightmare to start.

I'll do a how to guide to changing one within the next few month.

Sure you don't fancy doing one in the next day or two?

I'm doin mine at the weekend...

think the sump nut is 19mm and oil filter cap is 32mm, when i removed my oil filter the middle plastic piece got stuck, did panic abit as i had drained the oil out of the sump but quite easy to change the oil filter, yes i was a bit scared when putting the new sump plug back in, incase i cross threaded the sump. i've put in quantium 5w40 this time.
