  1. Do you have the passenger front wing? Cheers
  2. My first question would be has the cambelt been changed. If it's anything like a Clio with the dephaser thing, it won't be cheap.
  3. Both of my vRS's, my girlfriends SE and a friends vRS have all done this on a cold morning. Between them the cars have ranged from 60k-135k miles. One puff on start up from stone cold first thing in the morning then nothing else for the rest of the day. None of them have ran rough however.
  4. Up for sale is my Mercedes C220 cdi Avantgarde SE estate. It is a 2006 facelift model, so benefits significantly from a properly galvanised body and better paint so there are NONE of the the rust issues of older mercedes models. It also has a much nicer interior with aluminium trim and half leather. I am only considering selling as a friend works for a Mercedes Specialist and has offered me an S class at a price that is hard to turn down. I have had two previous vRS's and had fantastic hassle free sales from briskoda so this is my first port of call. If it goes it goes. If it doesn't I'm more than happy to keep it. The car has done 154,000 miles and will rise daily as it's in use constantly. As I'm sure you know, these engines are bulletproof. They are also chain driven. They are easily as reliable as the 1.9 PD engine. I have had a 220cdi E class previously on over 300,000 miles and it still ran perfectly. It has a 6 speed manual gearbox which is quite rare for a Mercedes, however it appealed to me as it allows for better fuel economy and is nicer on my regular drive to Wales. I regularly see 500+ miles to £68. The service history is very good. It was a lease car for the first 4 years where it was serviced entirely by Mercedes, the book is stamped and there is also a print out from the lease company for all of the work that has been done. There is only one previous private owner (+ lease company). Work I have had done since my ownership: New intercooler as the old one was hit by a stone which put a pin hole into it. New auxiliary belt due to age and a new aux belt tensioner. New water pump due to noisy bearings. New thermostat due to it taking a long time to get to 90 degrees. Full service - oil, oil filter, air filter and coolant (with the thermostat). I have receipts for all of the above. The car now runs perfectly. There are no knocks/bangs/rattles/creaks. I have done regular trips all over the country in it with not a single issue. A fortnight ago I took the car to Guernsey and again it was faultless. It has 4 electric windows, electric folding mirrors, electric sunroof, Mercedes audio 20 stereo, dog guard, cruise control, electric front seats, half leather interior. The car also had new brake pads all round not long before I had it. The bodywork is in good condition. The body has the usual wear/tear which you expect on an 8 year old car. However it is still extremely presentable and looks lovely when clean. The interior is immaculate. Just being honest.. It is MOT'd until May 2015 Tax'd until the end of October I am looking for £4000 Ono, which compared to an 06 Fabia vRS I feel is extremely good value. Any questions feel free to ask. Call/text 07833087858 any time (within reason) I will get some better pics up this afternoon once I've given it a good clean and Hoover. The car is located in West Bromwich not far from M5 J1. Thanks. James.
  5. I used to have these fitted and there was no way you'd get them out just by jacking the car up. Very strange.
