Does standard 1.9 use same turbo as VRS?

Featured Replies

Just a quick question as I have a spare turbo kicking around.

Thank you :)

No they are different.

Thank you

vRS = slightly bigger / stronger, hence why it is more powerful as stock, and also remaps higher than a standard 1.9 TDI.

They do however both fit fine.  Need to take care with model numbers when looking at the PD turbo range.

Thank you for the information. Would you be able to tell me anything about the turbo that I currently have fitted?

As far as I'm aware, this is the model "hybrid gt1749vnt" is it a popular turbo? small medium large in size? power capabilities?

All the best :)

All depends on the turbo number

Gt1749va is a pd130

Gt1749vb is a pd150

What was the original turbo?

A hybrid pd150 is rated to about 220bhp

Unsure on a pd130 hybrid but some say 200bhp and some say it hybrids to the same as the pd150 hybrid - as i havent had one i cannot say for sure

A hybrid 150 turbo is a good bit of kit and will bring a smile to your face for sure

They're basically the turbo that most people upgrade to or for those who can't afford on (like me) have on their wish list!
