Hi all

Can anybody help as I am at my wits end.

My problem is with my Mark one Skoda Octavia Vrs 1.8t ( 180bhp).

When I put the throttle pedal to the floor turbo makes all the noises but no power,TC lamp comes on.Sounds like turbo is dumping the boost.

Fault code read is max boost pressure exceeded ,MAF sensor above threshold.

So far what I have done.

New MAF sensor

Belled out MAF wires to ECM all good,checked voltage 12v on blue,5v at red/purple

New N75 valve

New turbo actuator

New dump valve

New Y pipe and nearly all turbo pipes changed

Other pipes checked also for leaks

Re-set ECM to factory mode via 00000 coding

New spark plugs

New coil packs

Air filter replaced

Tired of throwing money at this fault,been told could be throttle body but again the cost.

Any ideas would be much appreciated,or if anybody could recommend a tune specialist in the Redditch are.

I'm pretty sure that my mate had a similar problem with his MK1 however it was the TDi. His problem was with the variable vanes getting stuck due to deposits in the exhaust side of the turbo.

We removed the turbo and cleaned it as best as we could with brake cleaner and this seemed to solve the problem for him.

Does the op have access to vcds

I don't have access to VCDS.I was thinking that maybe it is due to a bad re-map.Thinking about taking it on the nose and putting it into the dealer.

A friend who has vag.com on a laptop is trying to see if he can get the factory ECM settings to re-flash my ECU,if not it will have to be the above.I have got my hands on a Boost pressure sensor and Throttle body to slave just to rule them out.

Hi when you say tc light you mean esp or traction control light comes on ?

the maf above threshold is due to the over boost as the turbo is pulling in more air than required at the set rpm or engine load

does the car have the original turbo ?

what remap has been done ?
