Citigo Revs

Featured Replies

Hello guys!

I'm often on the motorway here in Denmark with my Citigo 75hp.

I usually cruise at 72mph.. It's nearing 4k revs there already.

Does anyone have a clue if I can go faster on cruise then 72mph? Would it be too hard for the small engine to handle lets say 85mph cruising?

Cheers

It's going to be revving pretty hard at that, after all its a City car.

I have a 60 PS Citigo SE. At 70 mph it's only showing 3,000 rpm.

Are you sure you're in top gear? :wonder:

The running in regime says do not exceed 4500 revs for the first 600 miles or so.

I had to bring our 60ps elegance back from Stockport, which meant lots of motorway driving.

I was very surprised that I could maintain 80 very easily and not get near the rev limit.

I have found it to be a very capable motorway car and by no means do I feel it's a struggle even with 2 up.

Obviously it runs out of puff on long inclines, you just adapt your driving to suit the road conditions.

You are correct. It is at 3.2 - 3.3k.

My wife has proved that it can bowl along at considerably more than the UK speed limit with no problems - 130kph+.  I then reminded her what the national speed limit is in the UK.. :)  Ours is also a 75PS.

I have also been overtaken by an Up! on the Autobahn in Germany.  I was happily driving at around 150kph...
