1.4MPI 2003 Rocker Cover Hoses

Featured Replies

Hi all,

The two rubber hoses connected to the rocker cover, which are next to the oil filler cap have deteriated.  Do you have to buy replacements from a skoda dealer or can you get them elsewhere.  Also is it possible just to use some cut to length pipe.  Finally are these two hoses just ventilation hoses.

Many Thanks

Victor

I believe they are just breather pipes as they go from the rocker cover up to the throttle body.

I would suggest going to your local dealer and see how much they want for one. I would also suggest trying your local TPS as they may be cheaper than direct from Skoda.

Other option is as you said make one yourself. As its only a breather pipe it shouldnt matter a great deal as long as the pipe doesnt "cave in" with the intake vacuum.

Sorry all but one of pipes I thought went to the rocker cover actually comes out of the back of the throttle valve control unit and heads off to the side of the coolant tank.  Pipe is 6y0 133518 and skoda quoted me £45 + vat for a replacement.  Any ideas on a cheaper option?  Not sure what this pipe is for.

Thanks

Victor

No for emissions there is a Crank case breather/similar system which allows vapours to vent from the engines oil passage ways. One pipe comes from the side of the rocker cover (right next to where you put in the oil) and runs up to the Throttle body.

I believe the hoses you are talking about are the fuel lines from the Fuel pump. (if you mean the black hoses that run down the chassis leg on the Left side of the engine bay)
