Question about on board computer display backlight diodes

Recommended Posts

Hi  guys, new to the forum, so please excuse me if the topic's not in the right section. Used the search engine, but couldn't find anything.

So, to the point: I want to change the backlight diodes of the on board computer display (the normal one, illuminated in electric green, not the Maxi-Dot) of my Fabia. So i disassembled the dashboard and opened it only to find that the diodes are of unknown type to me and couldn't be found anywhere in the stores in my country. They look just like that (the three white ones): post-76140-0-90984100-1374585620_thumb.jpgpost-76140-0-51800800-1374585622_thumb.jpgpost-76140-0-48887800-1374585623_thumb.jpg

Can someone please identify them and tell me how to search for them on the internet, 'cause right now i'm in the twilight zone and nobody i asked in the stores which i visited couldn't help me, they just shrugged.

And it's important to me, because i already changed the smd diodes of the tacho- and speedometer, and the arrows, so they now are illuminated in white and red, and the electric green display is now an eyesore!

Thanks in advance

I'll ask the electronics chaps at work, but I always use RS components to find the part number before looking for cheapest price per unit.

See if you can find them here: http://uk.rs-online.com/web/c/displays-optoelectronics/leds-led-accessories/visible-leds/?searchTerm=led&sort-by=default&sort-order=default&view-type=Grid

Good luck

Martin

P.S. try asking in a non-model specific forum on this site for more help

Update: http://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/visible-leds/6656157/ are the right ones I think (except colour)

For a list of 'sideled' ones use this link http://uk.rs-online.com/web/c/?searchTerm=sideled&sra=oss&r=t
