Octy not happy at low speeds?

Featured Replies

My 03 VRS is not happy at low speeds, say in 1st, 2nd 3rd pottering around Town will feel a bit jerky.  This jerky feeling goes when you get her on an open road and can give a bit more throttle.  So far in the just over 2 weeks I have had her I have changed.....

Oil pick up pipe

Oil 5-30 fully synth'

OE oil filter

NGK plugs

New breather hose, top part in the Y shape

New air filter

Throttle body fully cleaned

Air flow meter cleaned

4 new coil packs (Under warrenty by Skoda :) )

Earthing points cleaned

Also she is only run on Shell V-Power

Any ideas what could be causing this jerking at low speeds?

best bet is see if you have any engine codes registered first to see if this points to anything.

From what you describe sounds to me like your coolant temp sensor maybe goosed.

just a thought as when the temp sensor fails it can misread fueling and air and start to trigger more fuel or not enough as it can't read temps correctly.

And not too expensive to buy and replace either.

Thank you for your reply mate

Forgot to put on my little list of stuff I have done so far......Replaced black coolant sensor for a new OE green one last week :)

It is not very nice to drive around Town as I find my foot is on the clutch pedal to try and ease the mini jerks.......Lovely to drive once out on the open roads though!

Only thing I thought of was it may not like the plugs?  They are NGK BKR6E-11

Sorry i miss quoted you the  NGK BKR6E are for std running cars and the  NGK BKR7E are for mapped cars.

You should gap  NGK BKR6E to 0.032" or 0.8mm

cheers
