dmf knackered?

Featured Replies

Right car is making a clunking nose on idle and it pretty loud when I stick my head under. I have read the dmf can start to chatter and you dip the clutch it goes but mine seems to get abit faster. Also I rev it and it goes then comes back as it coming back to idle. Is this dmf or something else?

Edit: now its gone on idle when I started it back up but a small chatter when the revs drop down :s

have you checked it isnt the engine cover?

Just been told it could be thrust bearing the way its acting.

If i buy this will it cure possible dmf and or thrust bearing issues? I no its not uprated but i really cant afford it right now.

Dmf is more of a rhythmic knock.

Thrust bearing is more of a dry grinding noise.

Its a clunk thats the best I can describe it. Its not constant it can speed up and slow down but like I said not always there. That kit will cure both dmf and thrust bearing though yes? If its either I will have to with the likes of that kit anyway if my thinking is correct. Im not to clued up on the drive train side of things.

When would a buggered thrust bearing become apparent? accelerating/deccelerating?
