Bump

The sump should be fine but make sure it comes with the fluid gasket seal. I've just had mine off and the gasket seal isn't a "normal paper etc" one.

If I was replacing the sump on my car and was planning on keeping it I would fit a genuine steel bottomed sump

the steel sump sounds good but would you really want to put less oil in the car? plus theres no oil level sensor so unless your going to map the car it may bring up a dash light

My friend who works for Mercedes is doing it and using their gasket sealant buddy. So im gonna go for the 22quid sump, I mean it only holds oil lol

It holds the same amount of oil as the normal sump...

Yes you lose the oil level sensor but that's what the dipstick is for. Its not hard to dip every week when you are checking all the other fluids anyway ;-) The light can be switched off via VCDS AFAIK.

Yes they only hold oil but they will hold oil if you hit a stone etc on the road at speed where as the alu one will most likely have burst open.

My sump doesn't have a sensor should I be worried?? I need a new sump too. It's a 54 2005 asz

No not be worried lol.

they are hit and miss. My 1.4 leon had one. my 130 bora didnt have one my fr leon didnt have one and my fabia has one

I have a spare PD130 sump can with level sensor I can bring to the National meet. :)

It won't be £60. ;)
