Another PID Gripes thread

Featured Replies

Since i last updated my PID to version 7.10.25 (which is supposedly the latest according to NAVIGON Fresh) I have had a few issues

I usually turn off my stereo by taking the key out of the ignition, therefore when i go to start the car again the radio comes on. However since the last update it will start playing the last song and then cut out for about 2 seconds, then the music comes back and its fine.

My other (major) gripe is the SD card. Since the last update i have had no end of trouble getting it to play my MP3's and FLAC files. In the morning going to work it may work (or not) but then going home on the same day it will say "There are no files of this format found" and will just revert to the CD or Radio!

No matter what I try i cannot get it damn thing to play my music from the SD card. It seems to have a mind of its own! As I said it has only seriously been doing it since the last update and I have tried all manner of things such as turning it off n on again etc with no luck. Afterall whats the point in having an SD card slot which i cannot use!

I have tested the SD card in other devices and it has worked fine. I can play the music with no issues. So i know the music isnt corrupt

has anyone else had these issues/ know any remedies?

U tried resetting the device???

in what respect? Reset the PID to factory settings or do you mean switch it off and on again?

Full reset by inserting something small into the reset slot near where you plug the usb cable in

Please note this may wipe any stored postcodes

Does the PID really play FLAC files?

Which file system is the SD card formatted as? Try reformatting it to FAT or FAT32.

I believe it says somewhere that it can play FLAC files. But as i said the SD card works fine in other devices. And it has only been since the last update that i have had issues with the PID & the SD card

Wow, I wouldnt have expected that. But I checked the manual - it does indeed support FLAC. I'm impressed.

Nevertheless, try reformatting the card just to be sure. It wouldn't be the first time ive seen a card work on some devices, but not on others.

I've found, in the past, that the SD card slot can be a tad sensitive. If you haven't already, eject the card and clean the pins before putting it back in.

I'm assuming that the card itself is recognised by anything else you load it into?

I have just loaded my SD card with Music in Flac format and now don't have the CD images, just a pic saying SD? When it was loaded with MP3 format music it showed the CD cover? It might be because the Flac files were created using Media Go

Yea that image, typically of the album cover is embedded into the mp3 etc.

So perhaps your flac files didn't

Sorry, have you by any chance formated (I think thats what it's called) the SD to one device?
