Tyre pressures

Featured Replies

Are the tyre pressures the same regardless of the tyres and wheels fitted i.e. 2.0 bar front 1.8 bar rear under normal loads? I can't find anything in the literature or on here.

Have you checked your fuel flap. I know that's where I found my tyre pressures.

As far as I'm aware pressures are more or less the same with regards to size.

is a table of pressures for different tyre sizes not given inside the fuel filler cap?

<Edit>

beat me to it

Yes, the pressures for the tyres fitted to my car are there, but the alternative wheel and tyre combos are not. Has anybody got the pressures for the 15" and 16" combos?

I was checking the tyre pressures on my Citigo Elegance 75PS Greentech with 185/55 x 15" tyres this afternoon.  Here is a pic inside the fuel filler cap.

Many thanks.

My only thought now is if the greentech tyre pressures are different to normal as the ones on my S fuel flap are 2.0 bar front, 1.8 bar rear under normal load for 165/70-14 and 175/65-14.

The reason I am interested in the different sizes is that I am probably going to run 185/60-14 on 6J wheels.

thats A hefty difference between front and rear isn't it? especially as the front has the engine weight. or maybe passengers weigh more than that dinky engine! :giggle:

Interestingly enough, when I checked the pressures (185/55 x 15" tyres) on my car (after being left all night in the garage) I found that all four tyres were at 36psi, as received from the dealer.  They should have been 29psi on the front and 26psi on the rear!  That too is a hefty difference!  Presumably they just hadn't bothered to check the tyre pressures during the PDI?
