OMG. 57mpg

Featured Replies

Just had a phone call from SWMBO telling me she got a maxidot readout of 57mpg from my Superb Elegance (2.0TDi cr 140ps DSG) after driving from Coventry to Kidlington (50 miles).

Her previous pb was 56mpg from her Monte Carlo (1.6TDi cr 105ps)

Now 3 weeks old and 900 mile on the clock I am well impressed with both the drive and perfomance.

Give me the keys amd mine will knock off at least 10mpg off that for you. LOL

I am averaging 59.7mpg on the maxi dot and over 70mpg on my run to work. So it can be done. It just gets better with some miles (15000).

If only the actual MPG was close to that reported on Maxidot.

Mine works out about 5-8 percent out when I fill up.

If only the actual MPG was close to that reported on Maxidot.

you'll need a Carlsdot for that...

it will get even better as the mileage increases ......dealer can adjust the maxidot reading to be much more accurate.

had mine done and its about 1% optimistic.

170 dsg estate returns 50 mpg (true) most of the time.......have seen 60mpg with cruse control set at 60 mph. now with 30k on clock.

if Carlsberg made cars this would be it!!!!!

Highest I have seen on the computer is 70.4 mpg

My last tankful was 34 - but it was loaded to he gunwales, roof rack with surfboards and camping chairs etc. 75ish cruise on the motorway bits and the gearbox in sport on A, and B roads as well as lanes.

Whoo hoo it was worth the cost for the pleasure of the drive :-)

Yes this can be achieved on a long run but you do need to keep a very light right foot at all times and never be tempted to use the power a bit because that will the figures. Also I find a light right foot combined with manual control of the gears in town can throw up some very good results indeed.

Overall the DSG is a very good box.

My 13 plate Greenline 2 is heading towards 9000 miles and averages 62.5 mpg overall (calculated). On a run up the M1 from London to Bradford it recently returned 74mpg. Not using the cruise control can help quite a bit. And to think I nearly got a Prius!
