does the new vRS definitely come with lane assistant as standard?

Featured Replies

As the topic title. Noticed it in the spec listing but thought perhaps it was an SUK gaff but some of the demo pics ive seen seem to have the camera and light sensor arrangement.

Would account for the car having light assistant despite being largely SE based as the light sensor comes as part of the bigger windscreen camera module.

Yes it definitely has it fitted. I tried it when I test drove one, I'm not sure if I like it you could feel it making tiny adjustments all the time. You can turn it off if you want through the menu's.

Well suppose thats quite nice, something the Elegance doesnt have and partly makes up for lack of front assist.

Does it wipe your ar5e for you as well?

Same here. Not a fan of cruise control either.

Totally agree, nothing wrong with the mk 1 eyeball. Disappointed to see things like this (lane assist) as standard and not cruise control. I believe it may have been added purely to help drive down the insurance grouping? Now there is a conspiracy theory.

Its a 320 quid option on the Elegance; id have rather them just fitted cruise as standard but still its not to be sniffed at; also the windscreen module does look quite cool with the sensor and camera.

Yeah, CC should be standard as its what, an indicator stalk change.

The fancy module by the mirror will probably stop working if you need to get the windscreen changed, which may be a problem, especially if you don't care about the feature. I personally also prefer the MK I Eyeball for checking if its safe to make a maneuver.

Apparently this time around its not just a case of an indicator stalk change for CC - I dont know how true that is though. I've ordered standard cruise control as I thought adaptive was just too expensive. It might be that when the dealer told me about the stalk swap not working he was thinking I meant adaptive not standard.

I was referring to their work in the factory. Standard CC is just add the buttons somewhere as its all in the software :)

Adaptive needs the radar so yeah, not so easy and an actual cost to manufacture.
