EGR Valve 2010 1.6TDI

Featured Replies

Can anyone help me on this one please.

While i was working yesterday (taxi driver) the Glow Plug light came on and told me the car needed workshop attention, shortly afterwards the emissions light came on and the car went into limp.

Brought it to my local garage today and they diagnosed the egr valve, they cleaned and replaced and reset the system but to no avail.they called skoda parts, dublin to be told that  new one would cost aprox 400 euro incl vat!!!

a couple of questions, can the valve be cleaned by a skoda garage and the system reset on their software?, my mechanic thinks it might work. And if i buy a new valve can my mechanic fit it or will the car still have to go to skoda to be remapped.

would appreaciate any feedback,

pennyless skoda driver

Ben

New one just a refit, has nothing to do with remap

Their have been a few issues with the egr valve with mostly town drivers.

you can actually buy a blockoff plate with a small hole in the middle, can´t find part number
