Wood or aluminium trim

Featured Replies

I still think the metal finishes are less garish than fake wood, black would be better or an aftermarket kit or wrap in a light wood colour, saw it on a USA Passat one time and it really looked nice,

My Elegance has plastic metal trim - its OK and I don't notice any reflections etc. from it. My old Saab had real wood and that was nice (I was under 50 when I bought it and over 50 when I sold it!). I do like the pics of the Passat above.

Some cars are made of wood - Morris Traveler for one and the Morgans have a wooden (ash) and metal chassis. Of course if it was all wood then it would be a cart  :giggle:

In which particular paralell universe does that look 'nice' :D It looks like rose wood or walnut.

Piano black trim is harvested from dead pianos dropped on Moggy Marinas. True dat

Oi! Don't diss Marinas! My 1980 1.7L served me well right through Uni. And nothing ever went wrong with that car that couldn't be fixed with a socket set and spanners. (Oh, and a soldering iron to repair the alternator once!) Don't remember ever finding the OBD-II connector on it either - All electrical diagnostic functions were covered by a good old fashioned Avometer!
