what a day, part ex'ing car to have a bump on way home!

Was trying to haggle a deal on a limited edition Octavia vrs this afternoon, car was £9995. Was offered 3k at first for mine which I laughed at ( mine is a fabia vrs 60k miles 55 reg) anyway he upped it to £3500, I said give me 4k and you got a deal, he said he would ring around and get back to me. Anyway on my way home if was pulling onto my estate and some tool reversed out a side street straight into the side of me! Two damaged wheels, rear

door, back bumper and rear arch.so even if he does ring me back with the extra 500 quid it looks like the deals off. Typical isn't it.

That sucks :( Sorry to hear it!

Insurance write off and pay out, or do you reckon they'll pay for the repair?

Lad who did it was full of apology and I got all the details. Insurance are now dealing with it, just waiting on a call from the garage to arrange a pick up and courtesy car

Typical! Bad luck Mike.

My Fabia got pranged in a pub car park after the guy had taken my

£100 cash deposit during the week that elapsed before I could go to collect it

with the balance in cash (private sale).

The damage was minimal OSR wheel arch scraped but it still took the jam out

of my jelly roll a bit. (Never did get it repaired mind you)

But, I was so keen to drive away in it I told him not to worry,

particularly after an 80 mile journey to collect it.

I smashed a front bumper by nailnig a pheasant on the way to trade my old Punto diesel in for my Seat Ibiza PD130.

The guy was pretty good about it saying it'd jsut go straight to auction anyway and took £100 off the trade in price; which i then forced him to take of the price off the Ibiza due to a shoddy bit of paintwork "repair"

I suppose on the plus side it was someone elses fault. Our Clio tried to fight back before she was traded in. The handbrake came off in SWMBO'd hand 2 days before I took her in and on the morning when I went to go to the dealers the cv boot split and sprayed grease all over the inner wheel arch.

I put it down to french temperament :giggle:

My old Octy did the same when I made the decision to move it on - refused to start, despite much mechanical intervention, at the end of the day, leaving me stranded for a few hours.  Went back the next day to tow it home, all was apparently forgiven and started first time.

Touch wood, nothing happens to the Mondeo while it's for sale   The Disco, of course, is continuing it's disintegration and parts failure programme while for sale...
