another 54 plate Fabia Vrs for sale

Featured Replies

Here is my 2004 (04plate) Fabia VRS that I am selling. I have no reason to sell it on, other than I want to get something bigger and a bit ridiculous. It is obviously red, has 11 months MOT on it, has tax till 31st December 2013 (at a rate of just £77 for 6 months.) It has now done 127k miles, but I do use it daily so it will change.

If you are unfamiliar with the VRS, it was introduced in 2003, while not the first diesel hot hatch, it was the first exclusively diesel hot hatch, having no petrol equivalent. The engine is Volkswagen Group's 1.9 litre Pumpe-Düse Turbocharged Direct Injection diesel engine, producing 130 metric horsepower and (230 lb·ft) at 1900 rpm, with a six speed manual gearbox. It was named the "Diesel Car of the Year 2003" in the Scottish Car of the Year Awards. It also falls in a low tax band (Band C) in the UK, further increasing its cost benefits over its (chiefly petrol-powered) counterparts.(Thanks wiki) It also  comes with ABS, power steering, electric front windows, air con, passenger airbag and driver too, as that makes sense.

The Achilles heel of these cars in my opinion is the seats, they are a cream and black colour, mine are in good condition all around, no rips of tears as I replaced the ripped drivers bolster when I brought it. They would benefit from a cleaning, if the advert runs long enough I will get that done. Under the passenger seat has been replaced with storage compartment, rather than a 6 disc changer. Also the rear tends to leak water in though the doors, I have resealed that to make sure it doesn’t happen.

I have also gone and carbon fiber effect wrapped some parts of the car, the chrome front grill, the number plate surround and the interior air vents and gear stick surround. It looks good to me, if you want the car without that then it will peel away at your leisure. I have painted the fog light surround in gloss black, looks better than standard plastic. And the front and rear have been detangoed, which I am led to believe means the orange indicater bulbs have been replaced with almost clear blue ones.

Before I brought this car, the previous owner told me that the previous owner had it re-mapped. I still have no idea what to, but having owned three of these cars now I can tell it has been, just I am unsure what to. It also has a LCR splitter on the front and the pd150 (instead of the pd130) air intake. Although I don’t know if that actually makes any difference, so I might take it off and swap it or sell it. The splitter can stay on though, makes it look so much better. I have took out the storage under the cd player and replaced it with the lupo twin cup holder, I have the original part still too.

The alloys were refurbished about 3 years ago, they are relatively unscratched or scuffed to be honest, two front tires replaced about November and the rears are good.

I will be leaving in the Sony cd player, JBL sub and Rockford Fosgate amp. Or I can take out the sub and amp to no difference in cost, only it sounds quite good like this. Comes with some history of servicing and cam belt change, recent oil, oil filter, air and pollen filter was done by myself.

This car is nearing 10 years old, it has picked up some stone chips, a slight fade on the rear spoiler and a small rust spot on the rear wheel arch, which again if advert runs long enough I will sort. No faults are coming up on the car, I have one of those BT ODBII readers, comes up fine.

That’s it I think, only to mention I am after £2800 for it.
