Hey all

 

I gather than the cheap cables on eBay are all pretty naff, but which of these genuine packages do I go for?

 

At the moment, I have a mk2 octy and am hoping to order my mk3.  I assume the mk3 uses the same 12-pin interface; am I right?

 

No.1, no.2, or no.3.

 

Someone has to replace the role of Mike now that he's sodding off to the East!

They will all work on a MKIII Octavia,

No.1 is all you will ever need,

No.2 includes stuff you will probably never use

No.3 will not non CANBUS cars, so is a little more limited.

I would buy this one as it is all you will need, is the same on I have and is cheaper than what you are looking at. Although needs VAT adding so will be the same price.

No 1 from the cheapest seller of the genuine version. I bought mine direct from Ross-Tech 8 years ago since when its capabilities have improved significantly and at no extra cost.

£264 including delivery and VAT. It comes in a nice case with a paper manual.

Yes, I ordered from the States. Placed the order around midday Friday and delivered by Fedex 3 days later on the Monday. At that time and exchange rate Ross-Tech was the cheapest source.

Same for me but sadly the Exchange rate isn't good at the moment. I'm now on my third genuine cable ( 3 upgrades from original serial -> serial twin-k -> HEX-USB+CAN)
