Hi

I have had a CEL light on for a while, cleared it using my shark STS, after about a mile the light comes back on.

 

I have now had the egr replaced and the cel light has disappeared and I can drive around all day starting and stopping the engine and it stays away.

Go to start the car the next morning and the light comes back on!

 

Has anyone got any idea why after the car resting overnight, the light comes back on?

What fault code(s) is it showing when scanned?

Well this is the strange thing, if I scan for fault code it says no fault code found, although it will clear the cel light!

Could do with scanning all modules with VAG-COM / VCDS rather than just an engine fault code scanner.

Could be worth searching for the brake pedal switch fault on briskoda if there is no fault code on an engine scan.

Guess I will have to take it in for a check.

Don't think its brake light that works and cel only comes on when starting first time in the morning.

Wonder if it could be a bad battery?
