Drag race

Featured Replies

I want to give my friend a drag race.

I have a 1.4 Fabia classic (the 50kW version) and he has a 1.4 Mini Diesel.

Now i know i can absolutely thrash him in that.

But he will be getting a Mini Cooper soon. What do you think, still go for it?

er, no chance mate. you that is

Yeah Mini Cooper is a 1.6 with plenty of go and if there's any corners on your little test route, he'll leave you for dust! :o His empty wallet will also improve his power to weight ratio over you ;)

yup that's what i thought.

Better try and get it done before he gets his cooper!

then he doesn't stand a chance.

I'd imagine the cooper beating the vRS Furby on a drag strip too ;)

I wouldnt.

My car would though :P

You could have someone jog alongside you offering messages of support.

(Joke, joke - my last car was a Polo 1.4)

Seriously though, don't race the Cooper. You will look stupid and everyone will laugh.

:D - not really into 0-xx type stuff, can you tell :D

Paul's car should run over that Cooper :)

1.4 16v comfort vs ur 1.4 classic

A 1.4 fabia classic will struggle against the Mini One diesel let alone the cooper, especially the 75 bhp (I think thats right..?) one...

Erm...no. Clarkson showed to us all the Fabia vRS is quicker off the line than the Cooper. Not only that, the young skinny lad (James??) was driving the Cooper and Clarkson was in the Fabia...there must have been a weight difference of about 60kgs...and still Clarkson was quicker off the line. I saw the video recently...The Cooper handles better, but the Fabia is quicker off the line, and it would trash a Cooper on the track.

And about the 1.4 classic...dude, no offense or anything, but I don't think you stand a chance again the Mini Diesel....I've been ina Mini One, and that was alright...but I've also driven the 1.4 classic, i really don't think you stand a chance. Give it a go though. :)

Mini diesel is 55 kW (75 PS) right?
