H&R Cup Kit - Which one?

Featured Replies

I'm thinking of getting a H&R cup suspension kit for my Octy vRS TDi, but I see there's many available with different degrees of lowering, up to 50mm, and even a 55mm front/40mm rear kit. Does anyone have one of these kits fitted, and if so how do you rate it? Is it a case of the lower the better? And what about this 55/40mm kit, what's the advantage of higher rear ride height?

I'm also looking at getting a RARB and an anti-lift kit (Whiteline or Superpro) as part of suspension changes. The car's a daily driver but hoping to take it on track days in the future.

I've got the 55/40 kit with whiteline ARBs and a set of Superpro (standard spec) front bushes on my estate. It handles well, and not too low for the missus to drive...

Ah ok. Why did you choose the 55/40 kit?

I like a bit of rake, and even with a boot full of children's paraphenalia, it still looks 'right', no reverse rake. S'all good!

Depends what stance you personally like really.

For a level stance go for the 50mm all round, for a slightly more aggresive nose down go for the 55mm/40mm kit.

I'm tempted by the 55/40 kit after a quick search for pictures. Does the different ride height give a handling advantage over a level ride height kit?

I doubt it, subtle if anything. My inside wheel starts screeching around a hard bend should I be pushing it, on a private road, naturally.

Got my suspension and ARBs from DPM too. Good deal.
