Head unit getting half power - won't light up or play!

Featured Replies

Just tried fitting a new head unit out of old car and i pushed it in a bit too fast and think it crushed the wiring...

Now all that happens is the head unit whurs (powers up kind of noise) when i turn the key half way but no lights, no sound :(

If I press the eject CD button it whurs as if its spitting a CD out. It is like the head unit is only getting 50% power.

Also, there is a black and an orange connector in there, the black one is what gives my head unit the whuring power, having the orange plug in does not do anything...

Hope this is enough information to get some help. P,s. tried multiple head units including the standard panasonic or phillips it comes with and that no longer powers up at all...

HELP! Thanks :)

Just checked the fuse board area, blown a brown one. Swapped it with another brown one and it all came back to life :) Looks so much nicer now having a red lit head unit with an orange / red exterior :)

Now to buy a replacement fuse. Happy :)

, blown a brown one
