What's replacing Platin/Steel grey?

Featured Replies

I've been trying to order my VRS but I've been told my first choice colour option, platin or steel grey is no longer available. According to the dealer they will be replaced by something similar, anyone on here heard anything about what and when?

Just spoke to customer services at Skoda and they said they don't believe there will be a replacement for Platin grey. I don't know what to think now, I'm not crazy about any of the other colours.

SUK have just phoned and said that there will not be an alternative colour other than those currently available:(

Looks like it's been replaced with Rio Red metallic, going off the car configurator on SUK's website....

I thought Rio red replaced Rosso red, in any event red to replace grey is a nonsense particularly as steel grey seems to be a popular colour. I wanted either cappuccino or steel grey & chose grey as the dealer said it was the better colour for resale. Shows how much SUK take notice of dealers.

It won't help you  :( but does SUK give any reason for this removal?

Platin grey is available in the Swedish configurator (but that won't help you either...)

Sorry.

I understand that you can pick add-ons in UK which I probably can't here, and vice versa, but to

remove a colour so soon seems strange... I can't understand it would give SUK any "financial advantage"

against the factory in some "negotiations" (which otherwise would be a reason since money talk) since it's

available on other markets (e.g. Sweden). They clearly have the buckets of that colour in Mlada Boleslav

so why can't it be put on British cars...? (Apparently theer are so much I don't know about car making!)

Feel sorry for you!!  :(

Even if I think Race blue is the right colour! (Common or not!!  ;))

I thought there was a new grey coming out later this year

primer grey?

:giggle:

Perhaps they have run out of grey paint? They run out of chrome trims, sunroofs........

I've just ordered a 1.4 TSI elegance combi in Anthracite grey. It's a quite dark grey, and a colour that has been used before. Just google it.

My mk2 is anthracite, I still love it

I want new vRS to come in anthracite :(

That's what my dealer thought, but Skoda UK don't seem to think so. Where did you hear that?

I would be very happy with anthracite grey, but it doesn't seem to be available in the UK yet, and maybe not on the vRS anyway.

There was a post on here a while back

That looks like Meteor Grey to me

This suggests there will be a Metal Grey from week 46:

Although it looks very similar to Brilliant Silver in the picture.

Oh Lordy! I don't think I can wait that long, looks like it's going to have to be Brilliant Silver.
