HELP - stranded Briskodian

Featured Replies

Just got into the Touran at a hotel in Basingstoke and the immobilizer has kicked in.

Any thoughts?? I could do without waiting for AA et al if there is an easy fix.

In the process of a battery disconnect for 10 minutes to see if I can get it started.

Not the same but my old PD130 Ibiza temperamentally refused to start giving an immobilizer light on the dash.

Turned out to be a knackered sensor in steering colum/iginition barrel meaning it wasn't recognising the chip in the key

Ben @ shark said it might be that

Hope everything got sorted. Basingstoke is only about 20 minutes from me.

Yeah, all sorted. Fecking thing started for the AA man. He spun me some BS about mobile phone signal interfering with the transponder signal. I queried whether it had anything to do with a faulty sensor in the ignition barrel which triangulates with the instrument cluster and ECU to start the engine.......

He said 'maybe'. LOL
