sorry guys when will the new fabia be in the show rooms and how much would it be ?

and will there be an estate version? My wife loves her estate as it has so much room for the size.

Was recently in the Dealer who supplied my MK2 and chatting to the Sales guy he said "There's defintiely going to be a MK3 vRS out next year" so take from that  what you will!

I wonder if this is going to be based upon the PQ25 platform like the current Ibiza, A1, the current Polo & the Rapid?

Basically a Rapid with the boot lopped off.

Everything said up to now has been that it will be on the new MBQ platform shortened, so with a shorter Wheelbase,

but thats still longer than present wheelbase, by an ikle amount,

so gives the more rear leg room, and boot space.

The Rapid with the boot chopped off is going to be called the Rapid Spaceback and is already on the way. :)

Skoda will no doubt leak more pictures as the time gets nearer.

Any talk about the 1.6 Turbo seems to come from the S2000 rally car running the 1.6 Turbo as a R5 car.

I doubt very much they will put one out with that size of engine, but you never can tell.

Most of the competition now has a 1.6T so it will likely follow suit after the 'disaster' of the 1.4tsi

Must say I'm not very keen tbh :(

Not sure that cars like those near £20,000 cars with 1.6 Turbos, 197 bhp & above  like the Pug 308GTI, Mini Cooper S,

Clio RS 200 Turbo, Nissan Juke Nismo etc

are classed in the same group or as competitors to this vRS or the next one.

To start with those 1.6 Turbos are heavier cars and need more power just to get the same performance figures..

If Skoda are going to build an affordable performance car that is to compete with them, then its handling they will need to sort out, because the performance matches or exceeds some of those other cars already.

It certainly is not disgraced by the Clio RS Turbo which is the one that comes only with an Automatic box.

Actually the 1.4 Twincharger matches or exceeds some of the 1.8 Turbo 180 ps VAG cars they have just launched.

Same 0-62, top speed, fuel etc, only the new ones are bigger, heavier, have Stop/Start, have less emissions given and lower road tax for an extra £10,000 or so.

Fiesta ST is one to compete with for handling, but in a 5 door with a Fabia unless they surprise us with a 3 door,

but not sure that Skoda will be able to, lets hope they can.

(VAG like to keep the 3 doors for the other VAG brands)

It seems that the new Fabia won't be out until the second half of next year.

No doubt plenty of people on here will tell us how ugly it is (before there are any official photos), how it's too expensive (before the list prices are announced) and how generally it's going to be the worst car ever made.

And then it'll come out and will sell pretty well :)

If it looks like the pictures above, you are RIGHT! I was thinking of changing up but I deffo wont buy that! Looks like a Mini Clubman for me in the next year or so!

They're photoshops...

I really like the images already being shown and hope the cars will not be much different from that look,

but

I really could not care less how they look outside as long as they are not like a Tarts Handbag. the more Q Car the better.

Not just given trim and embellishments, cheap tat chrome bits a pieces with no real function.

Better IMO to spend the money on building with quality Mechanical parts.

Light, reliable, functional, proper design & testing

and performing better than they look is much more important i think than what others think of them.

The cars are going to be built and sold with Euro 6 Emission standards engines and the Body design will probably have to be in production for 7 years or more,

i hope they are right, right from the Launch.

Last shape Astra apart from the front end. Reminds me of when Kia first entered the UK market. Whilst I agree with George's comments above, I hope it looks a slightly bit more radical than those photoshops.

We all know what the front end is going to look like ie rapid, octavia,Citigo it's the back side and roof that is the mystery

Me I will be happy if it looks something like the photoshops
