Could some please tell me what size the speakers are in my 1994 skoda favorit 1.3 glxi

Hello and welcome to briskoda.

firstly I should say that I cannot remember what size they are, the felicia ones are definitely 13cm (5.25") but something tells me that are smaller on a favorit... There are a few folks on here who will know the answer for sure, some of them had rear speakers fitted as well but they were an odd custom fit size kind of like 6x9 oval shape but smaller.

the real pain on the fav is that the front door speakers are screwed to the back of the door card so you have to remove it to get them off.

Thank You for the warm welcome Tom i will go and measure one later on also i have been given a (don't laugh) Ripspeed DV720 head unit now thats fine until you want the screen out then unless you are 2 foot nothing and a bit and sitting in the rear foot well you wont be able to see the screen has anyone fitted one in a favorit and can give me some advice on best way to do it

I've never fitted one of those slide out screen types before but they are pretty much the same as any car stereo really, the stereo wiring is just a simple plug and play job because it's got iso blocks like most late European cars, you don't need an adaptor either. There is one slight difference in that the permanent live and switched live at the radio are looped together, so all this means is that the radio won't switch itself off when the key is pulled out the ignition, it's not a big deal you just have to remember to turn the radio off that's all.

I suppose with you front door speakers you could always just cut a bigger hole in the door car using the speaker grille as a template, a good 6.5" speaker is streets ahead of a 5.25" one in terms of sound quality and bass response

If your favorit has no rear speakers installed you can get to the speaker wiring plugs under a plastic triangle cover at the base of the a pillar, I seem to remember they are wired back to the radio from this point, the front door speakers are also plugged in at this point too which makes it easy if you want to change the way it's wired etc, I can't for the life of me remember which colour plug is which off hand but i'm sure somebody will remember.
