Trying to find locking Wheel nuts/bolts.

Featured Replies

I am somewhat surprised by how many times on the internet looking for things---like locking wheel bolts--I come across Felicia/Rapid.  Or Rapid /Felicia.

Why the hell dredge up a name used before??  Brain-dead.

Anyone PLEASE got a part reference or trader name/address for locking wheel nuts for a PRESENT DAY Rapid

Does anyone know the size of the wheel nuts- size pitch etc.Maybe they are the same as a Felicia !!?!!

Sorry to ask this but I am not a good Googler.

I think they are the same as the Fabia as its built on the same platform.

If you car has alloys it will probably already have locking wheels nuts.

As above, otherwise any Skoda, seat or Audio garage will sell suitable ones.

I think I could spot a locking wheel nut and I think they would have given me the adapter to get them off so I think I have not got them . Actually.

Fabia idea is worth following.  How sure are you ?  Many thanks.

Are you sure you're not getting confused by the nut caps VAG use?

Good grief. No I am not getting confused by the grey plastic covers VW use to cover up the six sided wheel bolts used on my car. Five per wheel all exactly the same with a smooth sided hole in the bolt head.

The Fabia/ Rapid idea fell flat with two suppliers who showed on their websites that they are not compatible. Maybe the Favorit would work.

Earlier today I was quoted €70 for a set of four locking bolts.  I can only think they were extracting the urine.

So I will keep looking and try to avoid "skoda locking wheel bolts genuine Stink Pong motor company of Chian" good quality £3.99

This is starting to nark me now.  And I still cannot find what size the damn things are.

I would have thought locking bolts would have been part of the deal. Good point.  Email to M'lada Bolaslav I think.

You are better without them. No one bothers stealing standard alloy wheels now a days. They are no longer anything special. If one of these locking bolts gets damaged or you loose the key, you are in for a world of pain.

Really??!!   You have flabbered my gast.  Are you sure? There seems plenty of car crime where I used to live and now visit often.  What do others think ??  Would anyone care to tell me.

Could it be that where you live the scrotes are too busy lobbing bricks at the police to bother with car crime.

I really don't know what to think now.   But many genuine thanks anyway.

Ali does have a point. I haven't seen a car up on bricks in at least 10 years or heard from anyone who had their alloys stolen.

There is also the amusing issue of when someone here declared that modification (adding locking wheel nuts) to their insurer, they actually put the price UP.

Im surprised that the dealers say they're not the same as a Fabia's. Ask them for the sizes of both :)

You are a nice person aren't you? Come on asking for help and end up mocking everyone who responds.

My Rapid with the 17s came with locking wheel nuts.

Well perhaps if you put where you were in your details, we'd all know not to come to your area!

Wheel theft is nowadays very uncommon, which is why a lot of manufacturers have given up fitting locking wheel nuts.

Have you actually taken all the plastic covers off to check?

The nuts have. 28 mm long threaded section, which has a 14 mm diameter.

It's M14 x 1.5 thread bolt .

Make sure you buy bolt without a 60 degree taper that's flat ( these are for aftermarket alloys only ) yours will be slightly domed . Mushroom shaped like what you take off the car if your confused .

Many thanks.  I've noted the sizes and other buying advice.   I think I will leave them as they are and if they get nicked I'll set up a PayPal for contributions from you all.,..  That's a joke by the way ---I wouldn't like anyone --oops everyone to feel mocked.

You have helped greatly.  Thanks

My Rapid with 16" alloys also came without locking wheel nutsbolts.
