Scout 1.8 TSi - Any demand for these?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I will be trading my petrol Scout in next month and the garage have agreed the price I will get then. I have the option to sell it on myself but I'm not sure on how sought after they are in the used market and how easy a sale may be. They certainly appear to be quite rare in relation to the diesel models. Spec is:

2010-60 Octavia Scout 1.8TSi in Corrida Red

Factory options - Xenons, Front Parking Sensors, 16" Steel Spare wheel, Maxidot & Multi-Function Steering Wheel.

Current Mileage - 18000 and has Full Skoda Dealer history.

It will be due it's 1st MOT on October 9th and will need to be serviced by then as well.

If anyone has any recent experience of selling to pass on that would be great.

Thanks,

Steven.

If you read this place, the scout is VERY sought after and the 1.8 is one of, if not the best engine in the range!

Seconded...

IMHO  if  want the 4X4 "for winter" any 1.8 TSI on winter tyres is many  thousands cheaper and just as effective.

I just bought one and they are super rare so I ended up paying through the nose for a good one. Can't be happier with it!

Well worth trying to sell private if you have time and the dealer didn't offer you much.

Scouts are regarded higher than any other Octavia but the tsi's aren't valued as much as the diesels.

Out of interest, how much are you looking to sell it for?

Mines just passed the 19k mark and 3 years. Usually I'm looking to change but the 1.8 Scout ticks all the boxes for me. Intention is to keep it for a good few years. Maybe until its worth nothing and swapping it for another Scout !

Thanks for the replies. We've really enjoyed the Scout and have owned it since new. We traded in a pre-facelift 4x4 TDi to get it. We fancy a change now and Skoda don't do anything that we fancy at the moment and we have opted for a BMW 1-series 120d Xdrive Sport this time. I will advertise the car next month and will probably put it up for £11000 and see what happens.

You could join Freedom and advertise it on Briskoda. :)

I've been watching used Scout prices on Autotrader and eBay Motors since buying ours back in 2009.

They have been monumentally successful in holding their value, they must be the least depreciating car Skoda currently sell in the UK.

Our PD140 diesel is used by the wife who averages 6,000 miles a year so a diesel offers her little advantage in terms of running costs, as a result I've kept a close eye on used petrol Scouts as they are considerably cheaper than the diesels - albeit extremely rare.

At 5 years old (2008/08) I'll be looking to upgrade to a facelift in the not too distant future.

In 4 years I've probably seen less than half a dozen used Scouts appear on the sites listed above, all have sold and sold quite quickly so you'll have absolutely no problems selling it on.

I also think £11,000 is well priced, if it was diesel you'd be good for close to £15,000. If it wasn't red I'd be interested myself, it's specced very well as you've paid for the essential options (xenon's, Maxidot and multi-function steering wheel).

Good luck, it's just a shame your leaving Skoda. I often feel the same as you, if we don't replace the Scout with another then we will be forced to leave Skoda too. They need a Tiguan (Yeti too small), Audi Q3 or Audi Q5 equivalent.

11k sounds like quite a bargain! Glwts and don't forget this will become more desirable as winter gets closer...

11k seems a bit low to me ....

Small world! I have just stumbled across this post and it turns out this is the scout I bought from a main dealer in Sussex a month ago! Previously had a diesel Seat Freetrack but wanted petrol version due to short journeys and dpf issue so when I saw this I jumped on it.
